  • Multi-region, multi-zone node inventory with rack and role awareness
  • Create "droplets" (virtual machines) in any region, on any OS — hosted, or self-hosted with a Connector
  • Zero-downtime live migration between nodes, with page-tracked transfers
  • Drain, cordon, and per-node quota management
  • KVM/QEMU hypervisor with configurable overcommit
  • Bare-metal provisioning via PXE/iPXE, with custom OS images
  • Node labels and taints for workload-aware scheduling
  • Spot-priced preemptible droplets for fault-tolerant workloads

Built for

Where teams put Infra to work.

Platform & infrastructure teams

Running production fleets across multiple regions from a single console.

Managed hosting providers

Reselling isolated compute to your own customers on hardware you control.

Regulated environments

On-prem infrastructure with SAML/RBAC and a full audit trail, for teams that can't put everything in someone else's cloud.

Hybrid deployments

Keep core infrastructure self-hosted and burst to hosted capacity when you need it.

Deployment options

Where the control plane runs.

Hosted

We run the control plane. Create droplets in any region, on any OS, with upgrades, on-call response, and SLA handled for you.

Self-hosted

Deploy the control plane on your own Linux infrastructure. Add a Connector to create droplets in a Solarius-hosted region; every other capability runs on your hardware without one.

System requirements

For self-hosting the control plane.

Operating system

Linux — Ubuntu 22.04+ or RHEL 9+, x86_64

CPU

8 vCPU minimum, 16+ recommended above 100 nodes

Memory

32 GB minimum, 64 GB+ recommended

Storage

500 GB NVMe SSD minimum, for metrics, logs, and journal retention

Database

PostgreSQL 15+, bundled or externally managed

Container runtime

Docker 24+, or Kubernetes 1.28+ for HA

Node agent

Linux only; KVM/QEMU required on any node hosting droplets

Network

Outbound access to node agent ports; under 20ms to managed nodes recommended

Connector

Optional; links your self-hosted control plane to Solarius cloud to enable droplet creation in our regions
